Mount Pleasant, Sharrow Lane, Sheffield
An accomplished building, a handsome sight, and quite a turn up in inner-city Sheffield. Built in 1777 to the designs of John Platt for Francis Hurt. A fairly typical Georgian template of five bays and two-and-a-half storeys, spruced up by extra flourishes of a pediment, Venetian window and Corinthian doorcase. Grade II* listed.
The stables (far right) and coach house also survive. Currently a community centre.
