Monk Bretton Priory - The Administration Building
Founded in the 1150's, Monk Bretton Priory belonged to the powerful French order of Cluny. Its monks followed the 6th-century Rule of St Benedict. One of the functions of the administration building was to receive tenants and gather rents. Monasteries were never solely about the worship of God.
