The Robin Hood Public House, Little Matlock
Characterful 19th Century inn viewed here on a warm and sunny evening in June 2011. Sadly the pub announced its impending closure just days after this picture was taken.

Pro-Roll Ltd, Low Matlock, Loxley Valley, Sheffield
This Engineering company is based in the former Low Matlock Rolling Mills premises. This particular building was re-built in 1882 on the site of Chapman's and Denton's Mill, which was destroyed in the Great Sheffield Flood of 1864. The Mill was originally water powered but, although the Water Wheel is still there - to the right of the main building - it hasn't been used since the 1950's. Image

Little Matlock rolling mill in the Loxley valley
Still in use for the original purpose - though now electrically rather than water powered. Note the tree growing out of the chimney, which is separate from the main building and considerably taller than apparent from this angle.
