The Willows Special School
Built to replace Green Arbour Special school this school was flooded soon after it opened because it was built in a poor place for drainage. Despite this the school reopened after a lot of remedial work and educates pupils from Rotherham and the surrounding area.

Thurcroft Junior Academy
Previously and simply Thurcroft Junior School, the institution was re-christened in September 2012 with the usual academy launch razzmatazz, yellow edged blazers and refurbished classrooms. The school is now "under the sponsorship" of Aston Community Education Trust.

Gordon Bennett!... Memorial hall in Thurcroft
The new village hall, opened in 1983, and was named after local county and parish councillor, Gordon Bennett, who had died the previous year. An extension, including a bar, lounge and council chamber for the parish council, was added in 1987.
