Steadfolds Lane, Thurcroft
The northern terminus of the Old Mineral Line Trail Since the closure of Thurcroft Colliery in 1991, this two-mile railway walk between Thurcroft and Dinnington has been created out of part of what was once a through freight line - part of the Great Central, Hull & Barnsley and Midland Railway - that ran from Laughton South Junction to Braithwell Junction, and served Thurcroft Colliery along the way. The trail is hard-surfaced throughout and has been designed to enable people of all abilities to get out and enjoy the local countryside. It is popular with walkers, cyclists, horse riders and joggers alike, and is equally suitable for those with mobility problems, i.e. users of wheelchairs and mobility scooters.
