Maltby - motor store on Muglet Lane
I am uncertain about the previous use of this building. The painted-out Millard's sign above the entrance must offer some clue. The art deco style of the building suggests a former cinema to me, but http://cinematreasures.org/theaters/42695 claims that the former Grand Cinema was on the opposite side of Muglet Lane.

Old milestone
A view of the top of the West Riding CC milestone on High Street, Maltby showing a faint cut benchmark. Although not painted black the foundry name shows well. Brayshaw and Booth cast many of the attachments for the 615 WRCC milestones particularly in what is now South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire. Other foundries were used for the more northern parts of the old West Riding.

Old milestone
In September 2010 this milestone, although having a cracked backing stone was still intact on High Street, Maltby. In October 2010 the metal attachment and top of the stone were removed by Rotherham Highways for repair. Checked in 2020, in spite of interest from Maltby Local History Society and being Grade II listed, it has not been repaired and put back. Grade II 335922.
