Old milestone
Erected in 1893/94 this is the last West Riding CC milestone, from Wentworth, before reaching Hooton Roberts and the A630. It is almost opposite Carr Lane. The full height of the attachment can be seen (100cm) and also the 4 points where it is fixed to the backing stone. The foundry name Brayshaw & Booth, Liversedge is cast on the bevel. The Wentworth & Hooton Roberts turnpike was first enacted in 1818. No turnpike milestones survive. This post is Grade II listed 335525.

Opposite a T-junction. I wonder if it is a result of a vehicle failing to stop at the give way sign.
