The purple band is certainly eye-catching, if not to everyone's taste. The lower building in the background with the purple water tank is a swimming pool.

British Trolleybuses - Rotherham
Pumping Station was the name used for this intermediate turn-back on the route between Rotherham and Thrybergh. It was at the end of a short branch off the main route and was basically only used for a few journeys at peak periods. The council housing estate in the background remains unchanged. Yippee! First day with a new Canon EOS350D, and guess what? It's raining :-( Ah well, a first bag in this square. The photo is taken from the end of Dalton Lane, Dalton, Rotherham with its junction with Doncaster Road. The view is looking East towards Whinney Hill. To the left (north) lies the River Don and the massive Corus Aldwarke steelworks.
