Supertram and bus on Middlewood Road, Hillsborough
Looking north towards Birley Edge. A notice advertises "Off the Shelf", a festival of words. Further on an old advert painted on the gable end tells us of William and his high class confectionery.

Carlton Road, Wadsley, Sheffield
The Wadsley United Reformed Church is on the right ... seems strange to build it at the top end of a residential street but maybe it was there before all the houses. I have titled the street as being in Wadsley ('cos that's how the Church is named) but I would describe it as being in Hillsborough. Mind you I'm not a local so what do I know. Image

Hillsborough Memorial - 1, Middlewood Road, Hillsborough, Sheffield
This memorial, to the Liverpool Supporters who lost their lives on 15th April 1989, was paid for and erected by the shopkeepers and traders of the Middlewood Road area, close to Hillsborough. This memorial pre-dated the memorial outside the ground by some years. Image Image Image Image Image

Hillsborough Memorial - 2, Middlewood Road, Hillsborough, Sheffield
This memorial was erected by the Traders of Middlewood (an area close to Hillsborough) soon after the disaster ... and is therefore (perhaps) more poignant than that - just down the road - outside the Hillsborough Stadium, which took some years to appear. Flowers and Tributes are left regularly throughout the year ... and always seem to be respected by the locals. Image Image Image Image Image
