St Thomas's Churchyard, Kilnhurst
Made from an old pit winding wheel, this unusual "grave" commemorates not a particular man or a mining tragedy but the death of a colliery. The legend on the central memorial stone reads: "Kilnhurst Colliery 1858-1989 - They shall not be forgotten".
