Globe Works, Penistone Road, Sheffield
Pevsner describes the facade as "remarkably noble ... possibly explained by the incorporation of the owner's house at the south end". Note the abrupt transition from ashlar to coursed stone. Workshops survive behind. Built in 1825 for Ibbotson & Roebank, edge tool manufacturers. Grade II* listed. Now the Globe Business Centre.

A listed former cutlery factory that was converted into small business units in the late 1990s. It is now known as the Globe Business Centre.

George Barnsley & Sons - Number 3 Gate
George Barnsley & Sons Ltd was founded in 1836 and were originally situated on Wheeldon Street, Sheffield. By 1849 they had moved to the Cornish Works, which were much larger premises. They specialised in the manufacture of files and cutting tools for use in the shoe making industry.
