Old milestone
One of the 615 milestones erected in 1893/94 for the newly formed West Riding Council Council. Over half are still in situ from south of Rotherham, over the Pennines into Saddleworth, north to Sedbergh and eastwards to Boroughbridge and York. Many of the attachments were cast by Brayshaw & Booth of Liversedge. Their name is on the bevel. This one on the B6089 opposite Warren House Cottages disappears into vegetation in the summer. It is Grade II listed 1132776.
