The Vinegar Stone
This strange object called the Vinegar Stone is located in the undergrowth immediately to the right when passing through the stile off the road leading to the Needles Eye folly. Apparently, during the plague, vinegar was put in the top and money for goods and any change was placed in the vinegar to act as a disinfectant and so prevent the spread of the disease.
