Corner Shop, Middlewood Road and Marion Road, Middlewood, Sheffield
The sign on the corner reads G W Gilling, Cash Grocery & Provision Stores ... I would imagine this dates from the 1950s or 1960s. Certainly would have been around when the first lot of Sheffield Trams were running past the door ... nowadays it's the Sheffield Supertram running past, hence the overhead lines. Tramway in Middlewood Road
The road going off on the left is Marion Road. The tram is number 10 (now renumbered 110), and is in the original livery of a rather drab two tone grey. Sheffield has a lot of traditional street running sections, where the trams mix with other traffic. Middlewood Road is typical of these.
