New housing on the site of former open cast coal mine, following older Orgreave Colliery and coke plant where in 1984 striking miners and police clashed in the "Battle of Orgreave."

Housing and Business Park Development at Orgreave
Pictured from the southern edge of the grid square this picture shows regeneration on the site of the defunct Orgreave Coking Works. The Waverley Development as it is to be known will include 4000 new homes and an Advanced Manufacturing Park.

Looking towards site of proposed Waverley station
With Orgreave to the right and Waverley to the left. A feasibility study is to be prepared as part of the 2020 scheme to consider restoration of some lines and stations cut in the Beeching era. Literally, watch this space. Currently hourly trains run through here between Sheffield and Lincoln

Orgreave Coke works, pumps
These look like Worthington Simpson duplex non-rotative pumps. Undoubtedly handling a noxious liquid like tar or some sort of liquor (not single malt Scotch). A nice "mood" shot that captures the ambience of this long defunct site.
