"The Corn Law Rhymer" in Rotherham
The unusual name of this pub recalls a half-forgotten poet of the early nineteenth century - Ebenezer Elliott (17 March 1781 – 1 December 1849). He was born in nearby Masbrough and in his time his often controversial poetry was known internationally. He was a true champion of the poor.
