Fosters Cycles (in the former Yates, Haywood & Co premises), Thames Street, Rotherham
Fosters Cycles started their business in the early 1970’s, at Fosters Supermarket in Thrybergh. later in the 1970's four smaller outlets were opened in and around South Yorkshire … however in the early 1980’s these outlets were closed and the business was concentrated in the former Effingham Works of James, Haywood & Co premises in Thames Street, Rotherham At the time the Foundry was built, in the mid-1850's, the premises were said to have the longest frontage in Europe. Sadly, the far end of the building was demolished when Rotherham Ring Road was built. For more information about James, Haywood & Co … follow this … http://www.rotherhamweb.co.uk/h/yates.htm
