Crabtree Ponds
This pond was originally created as an ornamental feature for Crabtree Lodge in the 19th Century. Crabtree Ponds, recently designated as a statutory Local Nature Reserve is managed by the Wildlife Trust for Sheffield and Rotherham. Rudd, roach, perch and eels can be found in this pond. Another smaller pond, known as The Sink can be found nearby.

The Bat and the Gnat
The Bat and the Gnat carved bench in the Crabtree Ponds Local Nature Reserve. Young people from Ellesmere Youth Project worked with artist Jason Thomson to design the sculpture, which bears the date 2011. Crabtree Ponds is managed by the Wildlife Trust for Sheffield and Rotherham. Pipistrelle, Leisler and Daubenton bats have been seen in the nature reserve.
