Railway Station (former), Sheffield
"Pom-Pom" 64433 and EM1 26001 stand on Britain's first all-electric main line. Victoria Station is now closed, but a single line is open to Deepcar, so strictly speaking it's not disused. I thought the year was 1952, but now I think it was 1954, so that's what I've put. That would make me 12 years-of-age. Taken with a Kodak Hawkeye Box camera.

New B1 4-6-0 coupled inside another on Down express at Sheffield Victoria
View SW, towards Nottingham, Leicester and London, also Retford, Lincoln and Grimsby, on the ex-GC main lines from Manchester. This is the 10.00 Marylebone - Manchester London Road express and the two B1s had taken over (from another B1) at Leicester Central. These B1s were almost brand-new and perhaps not entirely trusted - especially over the 'mountains' to Manchester, hence the double-heading. The engine depicted is No. 1156 (built 5/47, withdrawn 11/63).

Ex-GC Robinson 4-6-0 at Sheffield Victoria
Eking out its last days as station pilot is the last of the earlier Robinson 4-6-0s, LNER Class B2 (later B19). This one was built in 3/13 as GC No. 427 'City of London', was LNER No. 5427, then in 1946 Nos. 1476 then 1492 - but its name had been transferred to streamlined B17 No. 2870 in 9/37; it was withdrawn in 11/47.
