Sheaf Quay
This building, dating from 1823 and formerly called the Sheaf Works, was the first cutlery factory in the city that became famous for that trade. It is now listed grade 2 (List Entry Number 1246606). A swan glides past on the canal.

Former Sheaf Works, North Quay Drive, Sheffield
Built in 1822-26 for William Greaves, who produced cutlery, steel and tools, and taken over in 1839 by Thomas Turton, who also made springs! The unusually grand office block survives, "resembling a country house built of ashlar and coursed stone". Grade II listed.
Now offices (Sheaf Quay).

Sheaf Quay, Sheffield and Tinsley Canal
Sheaf Quay is a Grade II listed building located within the Canal Basin area of Sheffield City Centre.
The original building was in a semi-derelict condition and was identified as a bar and restaurant opportunity.
Extensive consultations with English Heritage and Sheffield City Council enabled the building to be brought back into successful re-use and refurbished alongside new extensions. http://www.rushbond.co.uk/projectDetails.asp?ID=23&pageID=current_developments.asp

Sheffield: Derek Dooley Way
The northern part of Sheffield's inner ring road, Derek Dooley Way has been completed in the last few years and has taken traffic away from the easily clogged side streets such as Blonk, Nursery and Bridge Streets.
We are looking down from the Victoria Station Viaduct, whose plaque states:
"Granted parliamentary approval in 1846, the massive viaduct and this approach incline was [sic] designed by Sir John Fowler, a native of Sheffield, Responsible for many major projects, including the Forth Bridge. The structure which dominated the landscape for miles around was claimed to contain masonry equal to 700 large parish churches and greater than any similar work in the country at that time."
