Grassmoor war memorial

The war memorial is in Barnes Park. The photograph was taken from just inside the entrance gates to the park on North Wingfield Road. This face and the two side faces record those who last their lives in the First World War, the rear face records those who dies in the Second World War.

Looking in a south-westerly direction the photograph shows Birkin Lane at its junction with Vernon Rise. Ahead, by the public house, there is a mini roundabout and the lane crosses North Wingfield Road to become Birkin Lane West.
