Beetwell Street, Chesterfield, Derbys
An 'over-the-garden-wall' shot of the home of Chesterfield Bowling Club taken from its south end. Neither the building with the side fire escape or the lower building with the grey roof are part of the club's premises and neither are the ultra modern buildings behind it. The entrance to the club are via a set of stone steps leading down from Beetwell Street. These are not visible here but are located on the right hand side of the white post visible on the right hand margin of this photo. The bowling green is said to date from the C13th/C14th.

Chesterfield Coach Station
Coach station seems a slightly pretentious name for this modest facility on the site of the old bus station; certainly the two vehicles seen here are on ordinary stage carriage services. The double decker is a Stagecoach Gold branded bus on the X17 Sheffield - Matlock route; the other vehicle belongs to Hulleys of Baslow and is also on a Matlock service albeit via a different route. Hulleys is a long-established Peak District operator that traces its origins back to 1921; despite all the turmoil in the bus industry it has survived although it is no longer owned by the Hulley family.
