Pye Bank School
In northern industrial cities, the Victorians demonstrated their belief in education by creating long-lasting stone-built schools which in their day must have required massive public investment. Since 1875, Pye Bank School has looked down on the city but now disused, its days may be numbered.

Shopping Parade, Andover Street, Woodside, Sheffield
These shops were closed and shuttered on the Sunday that I took this picture ... perhaps, since the former Pye Bank School, opposite, closed in 2003, they are closed permanently. Update ... a few weeks later I went back during the week, and ... they were still closed! Shame as I was fancying a Mars Bar or a Peppermint Aero or, as I was close to Pye Bank School, perhaps a Pie would have been more appropriate. Update ... see
Image ... which shows that the shops are two-storey at the rear.
