The Bank View Cafe, ready for 'Le Grand D?part'
The 2014 Tour de France is starting in Yorkshire which on day 2 will pass the cafe on the way to the stage finish in Sheffield. The cafe, popular with cyclists, has been painted in the style of the 'King of the Mountains' jersey to mark the occasion

Bank View cafe, Langsett
Long famous as a place for cyclists and walkers to stop, this Cafe on the route of the Woodhead Road is dog and boot friendly. When the Tour de France came to Yorkshire in 2014 the owner painted the cafe to resemble the polkadot jersey awarded to the "King of the Mountains", telling the local newspaper that he expected to be made to remove the colour scheme once the race had gone. 18 months later it is still there.

Bank View Caf?, on the A616 at Langsett, near Stocksbridge
A great stopping off point for Motorists, Bikers, Cyclists and Walkers,
in this lovely part of England … just North of Stocksbridge, with
Langsett Reservoir just across the road … and Langsett Barn just up the road ...
… and on July 6th 2014 … the second stage of the Tour de France will pass the front door!
