The Railway Bridge is still in use ... very occasionally! It has only ever carried a single goods line to the Corus Steelworks in Stocksbridge... as a siding from the main line in Deepcar. Image

Mesolithic site at Deepcar
The plaque reads, "Mesolithic Site. To the left of this stone is a cliff-top site overlooking the confluence of the Don and Little Don rivers, which was once home to Mesolithic hunter-gather peoples pre 5000 B.C. Artifacts from the site can be seen at the City Museum, Weston Park, Sheffield."
