The plaque reads, "Mesolithic Site. To the left of this stone is a cliff-top site overlooking the confluence of the Don and Little Don rivers, which was once home to Mesolithic hunter-gather peoples pre 5000 B.C. Artifacts from the site can be seen at the City Museum, Weston Park, Sheffield."
