These signs at the side of the A6102 in Deepcar are an annual sight. They are advertising a pre-season friendly between Stocksbridge Park Steels and Rotherham United. Steels usually play these friendly matches against the three local League teams ... Rotherham United, Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United.

Lone Vigil
This long-dead tree stands watch over the formation of a new pond by the A6102 at Deepcar. It has formed in a hollow right by the roadside at Town End, where a runoff channel passes under the road, and now has its own resident puddle-ducks. Either the runoff is blocked, or is not large enough to cope with the flow.
