Ecclesfield West railway station (site), Yorkshire
Opened in 1897 by the Midland Railway on the line from Sheffield to Barnsley, this station closed in 1967. View north from Loicher Lane at the site of the former station building, behind which were sloping paths up to the (wooden) platform level on the embankment. No trace apparently remains, although the railway line is still well used.

Station Road Bridge, Ecclesfield, near Sheffield
The Midland Railway Station was on the left just under the bridge. The Great Central Railway Station was under the bridge and around the bend. Little remains of either station. Image

Station Road, Ecclesfield, near Sheffield
Station Road, off the main road in Ecclesfield (called The Common), should more correctly be pluralised and called Stations Road ... as Ecclesfield had, not one, but two Stations! Both were located, some miles from the village centre, down this road. One station - the nearest - was on the Midland Railway Line ... the second was, further round the bend and operated by the Great Central Railway. Image
