The Horse and Jockey in Thurgoland. The website promised a Saturday lunchtime carvery, but faces dropped when the pub turned out to be closed. Onwards to Oxspring!

Carved stone post by the A629, in parish of THURGOLAND (BARNSLEY District), Halifax Road, opposite church, in wall surrounding playing fields; near traffic lights, on North side of road. Erected by the Huddersfield & Penistone turnpike trust in the 18th century.
