Housing on site of former ironworks
This industrial site to the north of Sheffield was the Thorncliffe Works of Newton, Chambers and Co. The site was redeveloped for housing, business and light industrial use in the late 20th century.

Old Army Tank
Placed at the side of the road in an industrial estate just north of Chapeltown. The tank is a Churchill, and it is sited at the old Newton Chambers works where they were manufactured during World War 2. The hatches and doors have been welded shut.

Railway Bridge, Thorncliffe Road, Chapeltown, near Sheffield - 1
This view is looking North North West and shows the bridge carrying the Sheffield to Barnsley railway over Thorncliffe Road. A few metres to the right the rail line enters the Tankersley Tunnel. Originally this road was just an access road to Thorncliffe Colliery but due to lots of development in the area it now carries much more traffic than it was designed for ... hence the need to build a separate tunnel for the public to use.
