Riverbank Repairs, River Don, Oughtibridge
Following severe flooding in June 2007, the Environment Agency carried out, in 2008, some superb repairs and improvements to the River Don in the Oughtibridge area - and in other areas in the Don Valley. This picture shows one of the repairs to the River bank using stones bulldozed from the river near to the bridge at Oughtibridge ... re-cycling at its best!

This housing estate has been built on the former location of the Silica Fire Brick Works. The company had a private Railway Siding which ran from the site of Oughtibridge Station, along Station (Approach) Lane and across the road which is now known as Jawbone Hill. Image

The Cats are going home ... River Don, Oughtibridge
At the end of the day, the two 'Cats' leave the River Don, using the 'slip way' they have constructed, and park up on the river bank in readiness for 'more of the same' the following day.
