Two Cats in the River Don at Oughtibridge
Following the floods in June 2007 ... yes, 12 months previously ... the Environment Agency are finally clearing the River Don of the stones, rubbish and rubble swept down stream. This scene is close to the weir situated by the Cricket Field. Once this area is cleared they will be working their way towards the Bridge in Oughtibridge centre. Image Image

The Cats are going home ... River Don, Oughtibridge
At the end of the day, the two 'Cats' leave the River Don, using the 'slip way' they have constructed, and park up on the river bank in readiness for 'more of the same' the following day.

River Bank Estate (1), off Low Road, Oughtibridge
Oughtibridge is attracting lots of housing developments, such as this one and those on Low Road. In the main they are aimed at the modern executive and have proved popular. This development borders the River Don which runs to the left of this picture ... it is a good 30 metres below the level of the houses so they should be safe from any flooding. The rear of these houses have small balconies overlooking the river, but trees and undergrowth block most of the view. Image Image Image
