Sheffield Supertram on City Road

Wulfric Road, Manor
A residential road off City Road, a little way below Manor Top. The no stopping sign in the foreground has presumably been reversed. The housing in the right foreground has the narrow, deep windows characteristic of much Sheffield council housing.

All change here, please
When trams returned to Sheffield after an absence of some 34 years, the initial service was from Meadowhall to a temporary terminus at the junction of City Road with Park Grange Road. It was officially referred to as Spring Lane. Here car 17 is seen at this point about to return to Meadowhall.

Park Grange Road, Sheffield
The temporary terminus of Sheffield's initial tram service was at the junction of Park Grange Road and City Road, referred to on the cars as 'Spring Lane'. Here car 17 has just arrived.
