Old railway bridge, Rother Valley Park
The path is the Sothall entrance to Rother Valley Country Park. The bridge once carried the Great Central Beighton branch on to Spinkhill, Clowne and beyond. The bridge Image crosses this line further south. To the right (south), the TPT continues on the path of the GC out to Renishaw and Staveley. Image is taken a little further to the north from this location.

Northbound container train
This is the freight line north which bypasses Sheffield Station. There were a number of lines here once and the girder bridge behind once carried the Great Central Railway from Manchester to London. This line shut around the mid sixties. The Girder Bridge is now just a shell and has no use.

Another old railway bridge, Rother Valley Park
Yet another old railway bridge on the west side of Rother Valley Country Park. Because of the mess of lines around here in days gone past, it's difficult on the 1901 maps to accurately identify which bit of railway this bridge carried, although I suspect it carried the Great Central once. Just beyond the end of the overbridge on the left (east) would have been the junction for the line that once ran through where the park is now, close to the site of the old Bedgreave Mill, the buildings of which form the cafe complex in the park.
