Sheffield Steelers Lacrosse Club take on USA West on the top pitch of the Abbeydale Sports club - just in this grid square. Lacrosse is no longer played here. Steelers now play at Bawtry Road, September through to April.

Path to Abbeydale Road
The path leads down from Cavendish Avenue past Abbeydale Park to Abbeydale Road. There are in fact two parallel tracks, this one and another the other side of the trees on the left. The route is called Water Lane and marked as a bridleway.

Christmas lights on Abbeydale Park Rise
This street has long been famous for its Christmas lights and decorations and raises money for the Sheffield Children's Hospital. In recent years more and more residents have joined in and many houses on nearby roads now also take part.

Abbeydale Hall
Originally a fine house bought from his business partner by Ebenezer Hall in 1880 and lived in until his death in 1911. It subsequently had a variety of uses, including as an adult education centre, before being totally renovated and restored as apartments, with modern units built in the grounds behind.
