Sheffield - S1 (City Centre)
One giant step over the Sheffield Hallam University building in the distance - situated on the other side of Arundel Gate - would put such a giant in the Pond's Forge Interchange (the Bus Station), facing the railway station. Meanwhile, here in Surrey Street the main library and municipal art gallery looms on the left.

The Graduate
Public house on Surrey Street. When the building (originally a Masonic Hall) became a pub in the early 1980s it was called The Surrey. The upstairs was a separate bar called The Fringe. Fans of the musical "Oklahoma" with get the joke. The building is Grade II listed List Entry Number:1247424 https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1247424

These enormous larch arches are nearly 21 metres high. In fact the Winter Gardens are apparently one of the largest glue laminate ("Glulam") buildings in the UK. Glulam structures are made by forming and gluing strips of timber into specific shapes. This huge greenhouse - with several retail outlets 'budding' off one side of the building - is 70 metres long x 22 metres wide and it was opened by the Queen on 22 May 2003. This shot was taken from the Surrey Street entrance/exit.
