The "Mi-Amigo" Memorial, Endcliffe Park, Sheffield
The stone marks the spot where a USAAF B-17 Flying Fortress crash landed on February 22nd 1944 causing the deaths of the ten crewmen on board. They had been on a bombing mission to Aalborg, Denmark but it was thwarted by Luftwaffe fighters. The "Mi-Amigo" had to limp back to England - heading for its homebase in Northamptonshire but they never made it.

A generally prosperous shopping area, although the nature of the shops has changed over the last few decades. At least five estate agents, a kebab shop, a pizza parlour, an undertakers and a solicitors. No butcher, baker, grocer or the like, in sight.
