Broomhill Infants School, Broomhill
Apart from the few ridge tiles missing, it doesn't look bad for being 136-years-old. Part of the extension has been re-slated, but the extension and the outside wall, from the gateway, didn't get cleaned for some reason.

In the centre of the main structure of the building is this interesting coat-of-arms depicting weaponry. The lettering is DEI GRATIA SCIENTIA PRODERIT which may be translated "By the grace of God, knowledge will advance", apparently the motto of the original Sheffield School Board.

Update 2020: When Dave submitted this photo he asked for assistance in deciphering the rather effaced inscription. After 12 years, research by a number of Geograph moderators has at last enabled this to be done. It is believed to have been the motto of the Sheffield School Board.
