This large modern health centre is on Porters Avenue, close to the junction with Gale Street.

When built his terrace of ex-council houses in Fitzstephen Road Becontree would have been like peas in a pod. Now in private hands the owners have modified and adapted them to their own needs and tastes. One unusual feature leftover from the original design is the shared porch of the middle two houses. The halls and stairs adjoining gave better sound insulation from the neighbours on one side at least.

Parsloes Park lies on the site of Parsloes Manor, named after Hugh Passelewe, a 13th century owner. In 1619 the manor passed to the Fanshawe family, who owned it for 300 years until it was sold to the London County Council at the time of the First World War. The house which had fallen into disrepair was demolished in 1925 but the park was kept as open space for the residents of Becontree Estate, then under construction. It was opened as a public open space in 1935 to celebrate the official completion of the estate. The lake is in the south-west corner of the park. This is towards the northern part of the park where an area of rough grassland has been left and looks towards the backs of the houses in Wren Avenue.

A path from Gale Street divides here. A path leads left towards the sports pavilion and recreational grounds. The other path leads around the pond (hidden by the shrubs in the background).

This large building on the junction of Neasham Road and Markyate Road (on the right), is used by 2 doctors surgeries. Behind them is a small public library.
