The river is high after a lot of rain the previous day. Usually the near bank is the line of vegetation beyond the swan.

Roding Hall in the village of Abridge in Essex. The hall is now divided into private flats. The building backs onto the River Roding. The road alongside crosses the river on an arched bridge.
