Rourk's Yard and (closed) Rourk's Drift guest house, Tilbury
A scruffier bit of the town in 2011, and it has not improved. The guest house was once a post office.

Tilbury Docks
This is the part of the docks to which the railway and St Andrew's Road (in the foreground) run parallel. Taken from the footbridge at Tilbury Town station.

Old Building, Dock Road, Tilbury
This old building was, for many years, an antique-cum-bric-a-brac shop (although how it made any money for its owner I don't know, as it never seemed to be open or to have a customer). In its time as an antique shop the stone cladding and windows on the lower front facade did not exist, and the frontage consisted of a very old-fashioned black wooden-framed large shop window. Later on it was converted into a guest house, and now it is boarded up and slowly decaying.

Tilbury: railway lines
Looking towards Tilbury Town railway station from the Hairpin Bridge, with Tilbury Docks beyond the fence to the left. The Hairpin Bridge is now only a pedestrian footbridge, but at one time there was a major road bridge here which provided one of the main vehicular routes into the docks.
