Originally a house called Charlesfield House, dating from at least 1870. It became a pub in 1954, originally called The Rainbow. Its present name dates from 1980, when a new landlord, by the name of Fred Bull, decided to rename it.

St Wilfred's Church, Horley
St Wilfrid’s church started life in an old school which was converted to a church in 1958. The first service was held on Friday September 19 1958. The foundation stone for the actual church was laid in October 1969 by Sir Barnes Wallis, of bouncing bomb fame, who was a former student at Christ’s Hospital School, where he later served as treasurer. The church and community hall was dedicated on October 14 1970.

Vicarage Lane
Originally to be called Vicarage Road (and shown as such on the 1912 large scale map), but actually named Vicarage Lane after someone wrongly made the road sign. It formed the western boundary of Horley Common, and still contains a few old cottages built on the common edge. More general building took place from the 1930s onwards. The Vicarage itself was demolished in the early 1960s and replaced with a short close, The Glebe (see Image).
