Willow Mead
Late 20th Century development north of Pippbrook. All the blocks are named after birds associated with water - in the centre is Mallard Court and on the left is Kingfisher Court.

Portland Road
c1930s housing (other than the building on the right, which was one of three buildings, Portland Cottages, built in the early 21st Century on the site of a factory called Trimster House). What is unusual about this road is that the original houses were lettered not numbered, with the letters built into the walls of each house in coloured bricks, as can clearly be seen here on the pair of houses in the centre of this photo.

Brookhouse Stores
Newsagent on the corner of Station Road and Portland Road. Portland Road is unusual in having the original buildings lettered rather than numbered, with the letters incorporated in the brickwork in contrasting bricks. As can be seen from the rear wall, the shop's address is A Portland Road. See Image for other examples.
