Houses in Beaufort Close. No 3A, named Lanos, on the left of the photo, was built in the late 1970s. This was constructed on previously vacant land, the story being that it was built to celebrate the owners' 50th wedding anniversary, with the bricks ("Golden Buff" according to the planning permission) appropriately chosen. The remaining houses date from 1968 when much of the close was developed.

Much of this road was developed in the late 1960s, with the exception of the first few houses which date from the early 20th century, one of which can be seen in the background on the right hand edge of the photo, and a couple more built in the 1950s. Shown here after what is reputed to be the heaviest snow in the area for 18 years.
