The stripes had been painted the previous evening to when this photo was taken, hence their freshness.

Cockshot Hill

The choice of this particular crossing may have been influenced by the entrance to the left in this photo being to Surrey County Council's headquarters in what had previously been the offices of Canon UK (see Image).

Canon UK Headquarters, Cockshot Hill
The white building in the centre of the photo is the original Woodhatch Lodge, a locally listed building dating from the late 18th century. For many years this was the headquarters of Crusader Insurance, before they relocated in 1989. It was then taken over by Canon UK, who redeveloped the site, whilst retaining the original building.
