Situated in Nightingale Lane, this TE serves Storrington plus Cootham, Parham and Rackham nearby. This building is unusual in that it also houses West Chiltington TE, http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3138939 refers. A BT Openreach van can be seen to the left of the photo whilst a Thieves Beware notice is to the right of the gate. This TE has (01903) 74xxxx numbers, the (01903) referring to the Worthing group of TEs, and its postcode is RH20 4NU.

West Chiltington Telephone Exchange
This photo shows the modern TE from School Hill (B2139) and has housed West Chiltington TE since the early 1990s, the previous TE in Nyetimber Lane, West Chiltington Common, having since been demolished. Besides West Chiltington, this TE also serves Abingworth, Gay Street, Nutbourne, Thakeham and West Chiltington Common. Since TEs have considerable space following the introduction of digital equipment, it is now possible for sharing of TE buildings to take place, as with Storrington and West Chiltington TEs in this case. The numbering range for West Chiltington TE is (01798) 81xxxx, the (01798) referring to the Pulborough group of TEs.

Air Quality Monitoring Station
The monitoring station is within a self-contained, air-conditioned housing located on the junction of A283 Manley's Hill and Meadowside. The manifold inlet is approximately 3 metres above ground level and approximately 7 metres distance from the A283. The A283 has an average daily traffic flow of approximately 18,000 vehicles per day. The surrounding area is open suburban.
