Sussex Ouse Valley Way
The long distance footpath was inaugurated in 2005 and follows the river from its source to the sea using largely existing footpaths. Here it follows the drive to Ashfold Farm from the entrance on the B2115.

The name of the field according to Cuckfield's 1843 tithe map that is located to the west of Cuckfield Road, the B2115 and north of Image The flat area in the foreground was once site of Forge Cottage which survived up to the OS map of 1911 but had disappeared by the time of an aerial photograph of 1946.
