Scrase Stream
A tributary of the River Ouse that rises a little to the west of this point near Ardingly Road and joins the main river north of Scaynes Hill. Here it drops into a drain to go under Horsgate Lane.

Horsgate Lane, Cuckfield
Originally the access road for Horsgate Farm and from the 1860s Cuckfield Gas Works which now lies beneath Image Halcyon Cottage on the left dates from the late 19th century and was the first house to be developed whilst Albany Villas to the right were added during the Edwardian period.

The B2184 that connects Broad Street with the B2036 next to the Rose & Crown public house. Much of the housing on the right was built in the first decade of the 20th century. A busy road that enables drivers to avoid the centre of Cuckfield.
