Cuckfield High Street
The bunting is flying as the photograph was taken on the day of the Mayor's Procession. The mayor was elected a few days earlier in what has become the most corrupt election in the UK! Anyone can vote but they have to pay a penny for each vote they cast - this raises large amounts for charity each year.

Kingsleys, High Street, Cuckfield
Built in the 16th century and restored during the 20th the house was originally known as Attrees and was home to popular Victorian novelist Henry Kingsley from 1874 until his death two years later. Popularly known as 'Kingsley's Cottage' from that time after which it supplanted the old name. The flag pole on the left belongs to neighbouring Image

Built in 1897 to celebrate Queen Victoria's diamond jubilee and currently home to the parish council and village museum. The building to its immediate north is Image which dates back to the 16th century.
