Cottages, Pendleton Road
In the area originally known as Little London, before taking the name of the nearby church when this was built in the mid 19th century. The area now forms the St Johns Conservation Area. The low stone cottages are grade II listed, dating from the early 19th century, and the white cottage is locally listed, dating from 1862 or earlier. In the background is the clock tower of St John's Primary School (see Image).

The low stone cottages are grade II listed, dating from the early 19th century - see www.historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1029098, whilst the white house beyond (The Verralls) dating from the mid 19th century, is locally listed. Fortunately for the residents, there is another way round via Fairlawn Drive. Pendleton Road in the foreground is reduced to a traffic-light-controlled single lane.
